Uninterrupted

During lockdown in Waikīkī the sidewalks were restricted, the beaches were empty, and the usual crowds disappeared. From the base of the Duke Kahanamoku statue there was a rare unobstructed view straight out to Queen's. In this frame, Haley Otto hangs ten with the grace of a ballerina while Duke watches over from shore. The connection between legend and the next generation of surfers, with nothing in between, is a perspective that may never be seen again.
